The Sarimanok is a stylized representation of an open-winged legendary bird whose beak or claws clutch a fish. The survival of the Sarimanok is a result of an extraordinary fusion of time-honored traditions with new religious teachings. The sarimanok has been transformed into a symbol of power, wealth and rank.
